When the only thing you can do when you’re sick and forced to stay home is sit in one or two different spots in the house, well, there isn’t much you can do. I’ve basically been doing one of four things: watching TV, sleeping, knitting, or surfing the internet. I’m lucky in that I have the most wonderful husband who is willing to do the rest of the stuff that is normally my job, like washing dishes, doing a load of laundry, feeding the cats, etc., etc. I’m actually gonna sort of miss being sick and not having to worry about doing a thing but get better. Isn’t that sad?
Anyway, back to the point I wanted to make. This last week, I’ve been able to complete two squares for my afghan and finish 2/3rds of another one. I would have finished that square, but I didn’t have the necessary needles, so I had to order some off eBay which still haven’t arrived. This is pretty awesome, considering I’m usually lucky if I can finish one square within a week. This is the latest completed square:

Both of these pictures look the same, right? But they’re not. The one on the left is the front of the square and the one below is the back of the square. I suppose seeing as how they are nearly identical, it doesn’t matter which one is the front and which one is the back, but I’m sure I’ll notice and have to have the right side facing the front. This square was the Carol Adams square and I chose it because it seemed very simple and straightforward. I needed something like this especially when my head was all stuffed up and I was feeling so fatigued. I also love the reversibility of this square. I had no problems, except when I ran out of yarn and had my husband run out the next day to get me more.
Not that I hope to have the flu again anytime soon, but being able to work like this on my afghan sure is great!
